Tualatin Clinic Designed to Optimize Patient Experience

OHSU’s Knight Cancer Institute offers complete care to patients through several clinics throughout the region, in collaboration with Legacy Health and other systems. OHSU selected Clark/Kjos Architects to transform three of them, in Tualatin, east Portland, and Gresham.

The Tualatin clinic was designed to optimize the patient experience and facilitate staff collaboration and efficiency. Patient visits could include both medical exams and infusion treatments, so the entrance, patient blood draw area and care spaces are located for easy flow and short pathways. The infusion bays optimize the sunny treetop-level views and are organized around a central staff work center so that patients can be closely monitored. Physicians and staff can easily escort patients from exam spaces to infusion bays to attend to their comfort and personally ensure continuity of care. The on-site compounding pharmacy ensures that vital medications are prepared using the highest standards of safety.
