The Work That Happens After Work

Last week, we hosted a gathering for Architects Without Borders – Oregon, and it felt less like an event and more like a reunion of people who care deeply about using their skills for good.

Architects Without Borders–Oregon has spent the last twenty years proving something we believe in too: design doesn’t stop at the office door. A sketch, a conversation, or a few hours after work can matter far beyond a single project when it’s offered with care and intention.

As a firm, we’re proud to be part of that work. Several members of our team volunteer their time with AWB–Oregon, serving as project leads and on the steering committee. It’s work that happens quietly and steadily, often outside regular hours, and it reflects a shared belief that architecture can be a tool for connection, dignity, and hope.

The night was a reminder that generosity doesn’t have to be grand to be meaningful. It just has to be consistent.

We’re grateful to Architects Without Borders–Oregon for twenty years of thoughtful, people-centered work, and we’re honored to support a mission that continues to ripple outward into communities near and far.
