Our health system clients challenge us to find ways to improve quality, reduce risk, and create staff efficiencies. St. Charles asked Clark/Kjos Architects to master plan the future of their surgery and interventional catheterization and angiography suites. Our plan brings about a gradual and flexible co-location of surgery and interventional medicine to create a unified sterile environment. It increases safety, and combines patient prep, recovery, and support areas for efficient staffing and economy of space.

The first phase of the master plan implementation includes a new hybrid operating room incorporating a state-of-the-art Philips Flex-move CT scanner. The new room, over 1,000 square feet in area, allows St. Charles to perform sophisticated non-invasive vascular procedures, open surgery, or a combination.
