In 2004, Portland State University’s student health center was beginning to offer dental services to students without knowing how many would take advantage of the additional services. Clark/Kjos originally designed a four-chair dental suite and planned for a possible future expansion.
Three years later, the Center was struggling to keep up with patient demand and needed additional stations. The entire suite was then remodeled by adding four additional chairs, expanding the lab and support spaces, and providing a much-needed waiting and check-in area. The new configuration also provides exterior views from each patient chair and illuminated artwork on the ceiling for added patient comfort.
