Design Work in Progress
Lane County Public Health operates five Community Health Centers “to improve the health and wellness of our community through access to affordable, holistic healthcare.” Their first clinic outside the Eugene/Springfield area will be in Cottage Grove, in a unique partnership with Lane Community College. An underutilized LCC classroom building will be partially remodeled to include a new clinic offering primary care, behavioral health counseling, Women, Infant and Children (WIC) services, and dental care. The clinic is expected to serve more than 5,000 people in the area.
Both students and healthcare clients will share a common entry lobby. The design includes making the existing building more welcoming to visitors and pleasant for users with new exterior windows. Inside the clinic, the goal is to provide a warm, professional environment that is centered on care team workflows and workplace effectiveness. Colorful supergraphics will mark each care pod to provide easy patient navigation.
