January 2023: Project Manager (8+ years experience)

Clark/Kjos Architects seeks problem-solvers, responsibility-seekers, creative forces, and people-people. We aim to add a Project Manager to our talented team in the heart of Portland. This position is best suited to those who value making a positive impact on the world, working with others collaboratively, and active listening.

Specifically, we are looking for experienced Project Managers with the ability and the interest to focus on project design and delivery. The position will utilize skills including project design, overseeing the production of contract documents, interacting with clients, project management, and coordinating with consultants and contractors. Our specialty in design for healthcare projects means that we work closely with people who will occupy our projects and who provide care for the community. We work with many long-term clients on a wide variety of project types, using a collaborative process. We partner with each other, our clients, consultants, and contractors to foster a positive, productive team approach to project design and delivery.

Please have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an NCARB-accredited school of architecture
  • Eight or more years of experience working in the field of architecture
  • Somewhere between familiarity and proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to lead and guide the production of construction documents
  • Thorough knowledge of codes and zoning regulations
  • Clear and effective writing, graphic and verbal communication skills
  • Experience within collaborative teams for project delivery
  • QA/QC
  • Good attention to detail and time management
  • Coordination skills: consultants, schedule, construction administration
  • The ability to pronounce a few words with Norwegian origins, such as “fjord”

Nice to have but not essential: Previous healthcare project experience
